10-year-old Nigerian girl accepted at U.K University to study Maths degree


A ten year-old Nigerian girl has been accepted by a UK University to study a degree in Maths.
The young whizz kid, Esther Okade who is tutored by her mother from home, was excited to receive the news that she has been accepted to study a degree in Maths and it seems her younger brother, Isiah who is just 6-years-old is following in her footsteps as he is studying for A-level maths, six.starrfmonline.com reports.


“She is doing so well. She took a test recently and scored 100 per cent,” Esther's mother Efe was quoted by starrfmonline.com as saying.

“From the age of seven Esther has wanted to go to university. But I was afraid it was too soon. She would say, ‘Mum, when am I starting?’, and go on and on and on. Finally, after three years she told me, ‘Mum I think it is about time I started university now,” Efe added.


Esther shares her wishes of owning her own bank one day,she aims to get a First Class honours degree in two years and then set her sights on a PHD.

According to oddee.com, other bright children who have done exceptionally well academically, include the likes of Gregory Smith who received a Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 12. Kim Ung-Yong, who obtained a Ph.D at the age of 15 and Akrit Jaswal who became a surgeon at just seven years-Old Surgeon.
