Jesus Christ was “made up” – Mzbel

Popular Ghanaian female singer, Mzbel, has said she thinks Jesus Christ is a made up story by Europeans who colonised Africans.

Mzbel who came under severe criticism shortly after her interview went viral, said she doesn't believe in the existence of Jesus Christ, the originator of Christianity, and had discovered through research that the talk about Jesus and his supernatural abilities was nothing but a myth.

Daily Guide Ghana revealed that Mzbel during a television interview with Stacy on Restoration, had bluntly said 'No' when she was asked if she believed in Jesus Christ.

She explained, “Trust me, I don’t believe in that anymore…I don’t want to offend anybody. I used to believe in ‘it’ but eerrmm, I did my own research and I think ‘it’ was made up but I might be wrong; but by my own research, it was made up. Because the same story 5000 years ago happened in Egypt…Horus’ mother was a virgin…He did miracles, he had disciples at the age of 12,” Mzbel noted.

She continued: “I used to believe in ‘it’. I prayed in tongues. I can pray in tongues right now. I actually prayed in my room one time until the room was filled up in smoke…but now trust me, I will not believe in it anymore.”

Mzbel, who was criticised on social media after the interview went viral, gave more reasons for her answer on her official Instagram page, she added:

“So you know, I believe in God… The God of Israel, The God of Moses, The God of David, The God of Abraham, The God of Jacob etc… I don’t believe in the story of Christ. Yes I don’t and I don’t mean to offend anyone, it makes absolutely no sense to think that the same people that came to colonise us under very savage conditions will also show us a saviour to redeem us …if u will be patient enough to do your own historical research, you can realise that this story of Christ is to serve the purpose of softening the people that Europe wanted to enslave and colonise. The purpose of weakening us psychologically, and also to prepare our minds for the onslaught Europeans launched against us. They are simply utilitarian ideals that Europeans used to successfully break our will to resist their imposition and domination
Ghanaian musician, Mzbel has revealed she does not believe in the existence of Jesus Christ.
Born as Belinda Ekua Amoah, the singer who was speaking on a TV talk show, Restoration hosted by Stacy Amoateng over the weekend said she was confident stories about the ‘holy son of God’ were made up.
Stacy asked her, “Do you believe in Jesus Christ?”
Mzbel: “Wow! I don’t want to offend anybody. I used to believe in it but errmm, I did my own research and I think it was made up, I think it was made up. I might be wrong but according to my own research, I think it was made up because the same story 5000 years ago happened in Egypt where they have Horus. Horus’ mother was a virgin, where before Horus was born an angel came and said dadada…to Horus mother, Horus did miracles at the age of 12, he had disciples.”
Stacy: “Do you believe in the Old Testament?”
