Will Smith has talked about hitting the studio with Kanye West several times, but now he’s revealed that he’s actually a little scared about releasing any new music because he doesn’t want to “suck”.
The actor, who has experienced his fair share of failures with the most recent being the box office dud After Earth.
But despite sitting on nearly an album’s worth of new music, he doesn’t want to put it out just yet.
“I’ve recorded a lot. I don’t have anything I like yet, but I’ve probably recorded around seven or eight (songs),” he said.
"It’s not for certain, it’s explorative. I spent a week or so with ’Ye and we went into the studio.”
"He’s trying to get me gassed up,” the Focus star continued, according to The Sun.
“I don’t want to say, ‘I’m going to do it’ then get in there and suck. I’ll stay cautiously optimistic.”
It seems that the fear is very real as he forgot the lyrics to the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme live on TV.
The actor, who made the song famous in 1990, took a stab at performing the hit as he appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday.
However things got extremely awkward when the rapper seemed to forget the words half way through.
