LEONARD Nimoy will be laid to rest tomorrow (Sunday) near his Los Angeles home.
Because of his Jewish heritage, the man known best as Spock will be buried at a Hollywood cemetery in a close family funeral.
However, his best friend and co-star William Shatner yesterday told how he will be forced to miss saying his final farewell because he is attending a charity event in Florida.
Under Jewish tradition, people are buried within 24 hours of their death but funerals don't take place on Saturdays so the soonest Nimoy, who passed away on Friday, can be buried is today.

Family sources say the service is for close friends and family only, though there is a likely to be a memorial service in the next few months.
It is most likely that the funeral will take place at the Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary as it is attached to The Temple of Israel, Hollywood, where Nimoy and his family would attend.
Nimoy passed away at his Los Angeles home on Friday morning after a long battle with lung disease, aged 83.
